GST refund campaign till June 14

All business establishments and industries have been asked to utilise the opportunity during the GST ‘Refund Fortnight’ that ends on June 14 and get their refund claims processed.

A press release from V. Deepa, Deputy Commissioner (Sales Tax), Erode, said that the campaign is being organised by the GST Council Secretariat in coordination with the State Tax authorities between May 31 and June 14.

After the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax Acts, tax payers are facilitated to claim refund of accumulated Input Tax Credit (ITC) due to inverted tax structure, zero rated supplies (export), deemed exports and for excess balance available in electronic cash ledger through online in GST websitewww.gst.gov.in.

 

The hard copy of the application in Form GST RFD-01A along with supporting documents has to be submitted to the respective jurisdictional officer. The officer will examine the application and if it is in order, refund sanction order will be issued to the tax payer.

The press release said that tax payers who have already filed refund claim applications and pending as on April 30, 2018, are requested to submit all necessary documents, if any, to the officer concerned so as to process the pending
